So, you've started posting your blog entries, and are feeling pretty good about the feedback. Here are some tips on promoting your blog content even further within the meetUon.com community ... and beyond!
Fortunately, meetUon.com already has quite a sophisticated syndication system built-in, so that the rest of cyberspace is already aware when you and anyone else has posted a hot new topic -- as well as marketing our content to other communities online.
But why not separate your blog from the others with a few cool techniques -- easy to to, but really effective?
Here are a few tips:
1. Create a signature in your meetUon.com profile that shows up at the end of every comment you make or e-mail you send to other members. Give it a snappy byline and include an HTML link to your blog. Simply copy this line into the 'Signature' box in your profile, and insert your blog URL where it says [blog URL], and your subject matter where it says [blog topic].
Check out <a href="[blog url]">my blog</a> about [blog topic]!
Of course, this is very generic, so feel free to change the wording -- just get the meetUon.com blog address right between the quotes (don't forget the 'http://'!)
2. Join forums, chat rooms and newsgroups on meetUon.com and elsewhere. Participate with relevant points. If that site allows you to make a signature, do so and, again, include your meetUon.com blog URL.
3. If you have a business, organization or another website or blog, include your meetUon.com blog URL on your list of links or your links page. Make an endless loop of fans going back and forth from each interlinked site.
4. Use Feedburner to customize your blog's RSS feed (NOTE: this is a somewhat advanced tip for seasoned bloggers. Don't worry, newbies -- we'll explain what this is in depth soon!). As mentioned above, the entire meetUon.com society is already promoted through this incredibly useful syndication tool. But you make have different settings you might want to apply to your own blog within our community. Check out the rest of their features, and customize your feed!
5. Good ol' print advertising. If you are willing to spend a few offline dollars to get your link in print, the extra eyes who still loyally read the newpapers, magazines, etc. can never hurt your exposure.
6. Event launchings. A party, conference/trade show, fundraising event or other social event are all effective ways of showing your prospective audience that you've arrived.
Do any combination of these in tandem, and you'll have more eyes peering at what's new in your section of the blogosphere ... which sets you up for good income potential here at meetUon.com!
